Review
FOUR STARS from Romantic Times: "Fans of romantic comedies are in for a treat just in time for Valentine's Day. Book one in the Weddings by Design series does not disappoint! Funny one-liners and absolutely lovable characters combine with just enough romantic tension to keep the pages turning at a brisk pace -- but readers will want to slow down to savor this one."

FIVE STARS from Novel Crossing/Rissi: "If there is one author who has the romantic-comedy genre cornered, it'd be Janice Thompson. Her books have been one winner after the next and each one has been a delight coming alive with spunk and color with its quirky antics and loveable characters. Her brand-new new series is no different. In fact, if it is possible, I adore Hannah more (only by a smidgeon) than I did the memorable Bella and company back in the fictional trio, Weddings by Bella."

From the Author
A special note to my readers: Thanks so much for reading Picture Perfect! I hope you love to laugh, because this light-hearted novel featuring Irish wedding photographer Hannah McDermott will give you ample opportunity to do so! I also hope you love Bing Crosby and Bob Hope as much as I do. They make several appearances in this fun story. Oh, and all of those Dancing with the Stars scenes? I'm hooked on that show and couldn't resist the urge to add some toe-tapping episodes, sure to please. So, grab your dancing shoes, your camera, and your love of all-things-weddings and dive into Picture Perfect. In the meantime, I leave you with a fun quote that pretty much sums up Hannah's take on life: "Bless your little Irish heart and every other Irish part!"

From the Back Cover
She's trying to focus on her future. How can one man make everything feel so . . . fuzzy?

Hannah McDermott has a successful photography studio. She'll soon be featured in Texas Bride magazine. And she has a celebrity client whose Galveston ceremony will be her ticket to the top spot on wedding coordinator Bella Neeley's list of recommended photographers. But it could all come crashing down around her because of one man: archrival and photographer extraordinaire Drew Kincaid.

As the competition between Hannah and Drew heats up, Hannah is surprised to find that it's not the only thing getting more intense. She can't get the handsome man out of her thoughts--or even out of her line of sight--and the job of her dreams is turning into a nightmare. Will everything she's worked for slip out of her hands? And can she see past her pride to find a picture-perfect love?

With contagious humor and a cast of quirky characters, Janice Thompson gives you crazy bridal-business drama, sweet romance, and a satisfying dose of laughter.

Picture Perfect

I love Janice Thompson's books in generally. Usually they are fantastically funny and cute! I was very much looking forward to this one, so when it arrived I started it right away! To be honest, by the end I came to a few conclusions. The book has a cute plot, but needed DEFINITE decluttering. The supporting characters are nice ideas, but with all the time Hannah spent with Bella, you'd think that is who she was going to end up with in the end (Hannah and Drew are supposed to be the main focus of the book). The heroine needed what I have heard Susan May Warren refer to as a "redeeming characteristic" (or some such thing), I believe Thompson tried too hard to make her flawed and realistic...she succeeded, but forgot to give Hannah that one huge part of her that redeems her in the readers eyes. Our hero Drew is nice, and yet he is lacking a certain depth. He is like a cardboard cut-out, saying the expected, when expected, standing there unused. A grave mistake when writing is to make the hero replaceable by any other man...and Joe-Schmoe could have replaced Drew and no one would have been the wiser. I still love the stories Thompson creates, but this one in particular seemed more like a rushed first draft than anything. Read her other work though, most are quite cute.

Janice is great as always.
By RocktreeGardner
I love this author, and I LOVE this series. Honestly I have to read it away from my family if I'm reading late at night because there are always moments in this series when I am laughing loudly and hysterically over the antics of the supporting characters. I would live in a town like this in a minute! That said, this was probably the strongest in the series for me, and I HATED the cliff hanger. It just felt so finished and unrushed and the dialogue between them could not have been developed more. You got it down Janice, your a great writer and we expect a lot from you because we know you can bring it and we're willing to wait for you to bring it in style! Looking forward to your next book. It was nice to see more and get a feel for the more human side in this book. I'm going to be really sad when this series does come to an end...it's like visiting old friends and when an author can make you feel that way, you know she's doing her job well.

CHRISTIAN ROMANCE
By Angy
One of my biggest complaints is when publishers do not properly tag a book for its proper genre. This should be tagged as Christian Romance. Plot was cute; however I just couldn't connect with Hannah. While I liked Hannah and Drew together, I had to skip a lot of the secondary characters dialogue just to get to Hannah and Drew's story.

Update: Since the above review, which was done July 2013, the publisher/author has updated to include the religious classification to the product details.
