Really nice book

This book has some great pictures which really help to reinforce the sounds associated with them and I am such a strong proponent of spelling phonetically. When my daughter was in K, they were really into phonic and not wanting the kids to "worry" about the "correct" spelling and some of the stories that came out of this philosophy were really great. My daughter wrote one that was published in Highlights Children's magazine and I still have and framed.
Yes, I'm going to quote it here, but it's short!
"Mr kat, w(long i), y, r u jrest l(long i)k dat? Bkoz Im gow(long e)n awt wiv misus kat." (Mr. Kat was all dressed up in a tux). Translation: Mr. Kat, why are you dressed like that? Because I'm going out with Missus Kat.
